Reporting operationally and professionally to the Nurse Manager Primary Care and Community Health, the role will provide services from multiple sites within Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the Local Health District (LHD).
The Clinical Nurse Consultant Supportive and Palliative Care has responsibility for the provision of expert clinical advice to clients, carers and other health professionals. This position works in close liaison with staff from Primary Care and Community Heath, acute facilities, General Practitioners, Specialists, other healthcare providers (including private providers and Residential Aged Care Facilities).
The position will work collaboratively with other specialist supportive and palliative care nursing positions (including the Nurse Practitioner, CNC3, CNC2 and CNS2) to ensure a whole of district approach to the provision of supportive and palliative care to the target client group.
- Current Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Regulation Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- 5 years full time equivalent postgraduate experience
- Minimum 3 years full time equivalent experience in Supportive and Palliative Care nursing
- Post graduate qualifications relevant to the specialty area of practice
Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively, including demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills. Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice using evidence based research
Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning, clinical teaching, information systems, and experience in the development of specialty education programs. Demonstrated clinical expertise and ability to work independently
